In accordance with this year's theme TIME TO COLOR!, the exhibition “Hand + Art + Design” presents three new solo-exhibits by artist-designers each one standing out in a specific sector for originality and substance of their hand made creations, all of them one-of-kind or limited editions.
Daniela Gerini ranges from habitat to fashion expressing her passion for colour and art in skillful brush-strokes on fabrics, in asymmetric shapes for furniture and in unexpected mixes for her lamps.
“For me, COLOR is a passion a vital expression… it is energy…magic… it is joy! It is a “philosophy”…it is inalienable… The use of color allows me to express that playful part of my personality; in my work as a stylist I interpret color in all its “shades” I express it on manual paintings, cracking colors is the name of the fabric that I paint on rough canvas that become dresses… and furnishing fabrics. “COLOR” that I also apply on design pieces with a strong attraction for “Memphis” as I feel it close to my way of being…All my projects are colorful, I like to hand paint to walls, shapes and graphic marks… with primary colors and then… black… because even black is a color..! “Because black is an experience”… I like living and working in an environment where color expresses harmony… wherever I look…life isn't so good without color! Design is art when it becomes a way of expression leaving an imprint … when it creates an emotion… then it goes beyond and gets closer to art.” – Daniela Gerini.
