Bridge

Ilaria Marelli is an architect, designer, lecturer at Politecnico di Milano and NABA.

Thanks to her original approach to social and cultural aspects of design, she was awarded for her work with the “Milano Donna award” in 2008, and the “Alumni Polimi Award” in 2015, and has received the honorable mention at the “Ethical Gran Design Award” in 2019.

BRIDGE is the new bench-fire pit designed by Ilaria Marelli for STEELES, the new brand of INCOSERVICE, a Como-based company specialized in the use of metal for construction and light carpentry, created to provide a quality metal product to the end customer. The large bowl that acts as a fire-pit (and not only) can be positioned as desired so as to make the product versatile. The design of the bench is reminiscent of construction H-beams, and is made up of two elements in perforated metal, so to suggest the lightness of a solids and voids pattern. These elements can be fixed in an offset way, making the seat extendable. The minimal design makes it an iconic piece of furniture, characterized by an extremely contemporary pastel color palette.
