1367 – Divining Design Trends

“1367 – Divining Design Trends” project by Istituto Marangoni • the school of design features research led by students in Product, Interior and Visual Design courses over the past three academic years. It is made of three monoliths with slits like mouths of truth in which visitors can put their hands to learn about the future of design. Tying them all together are tarot cards, playing cards famous in the Renaissance for knowing, and sometimes predicting, the future. The exact year of their birth was 1367, the same as the title of the project. A metaphor that engages students in a collective observatory of our today, from which – among metaverse, nft and digital art, circular economy and new sustainable paradigms – they can draw predictions, but, most of all, projects for tomorrow.
