Furniture, accessories, beautiful “things”: proposals of several types that at the beginning of the century have captured the attention of market and experts and could enter the icons group that represent an era, the first twenty years of the third millennium. Ethereal, absolute as an installation, yet capable of adapting to different environments, the ON AIR lift designed by Studio Marco Piva for IGV Group, with a cabin in Sicis Vetrite and stainless steel profiles. Lava stone, extracted from the slopes of Mount Etna and treated with fire, becomes tiles and mosaics by Nerosicilia: the Gemme collection by Rodolfo Dordoni is embellished with glass castings, with Palazzo 700 glass serigraphs by Piero Lissoni, which evokes wooden floors of tradition. Designed in 1969 by Mario Bellini for Flos, the Chiara lamp continues to prevail in environments even when switched off. In 2020 a new floor stainless steel version and a smaller aluminum table version was born. Games of overlapping, sophisticated colors, discrete compositions that are transformed into domestic landscapes in Grafismi wallpaper, born from the meeting of Giulio Cappellini and Gabriella Fusillo, founder of Or.nami who produces them. Refinement of materials with past workmanship for a contemporary design in Porro furniture: from the re-edition of Materic table with steel base and ash top to the Romby armchair, virtuosity of cabinet-making, to Mikado, a reinterpretation of the sideboard, composed of wooden slats, which can be used as a room divider. Softness and comfort are strong points of the Larzia armchair and the Maryl sofa by Trussardi Casa.
